Venus in the snow.

Snow overnight, about 4 inches. Not heavy snow, but wet enough that after the usual procession of SUVs and minivans to the school and back the streets had been packed down to something approaching ice. Cars make life difficult for pedestrians in so many ways.

Douglas firs looking resplendent.

Douglas fir cones, same tree as these taken in other seasons.

But the big news of the day is that my seasonally-challenged venus flytrap flowered this morning, despite the low light and low humidity. Good for you, plant.
