Take me to the river.

When travelling east-west in Richmond, a scenic alternative to the central arteries is River Road, which runs along the northern shoreline, separated by dike from the North Arm of the Fraser River.
Heading to New Westminster, there are several Bald Eagle nests along the route.

There are a couple of pull-outs with viewing sites. On this platform someone had left a small clam (Sphaerium sp?) high and dry.

A view westward down the North Arm. Pylons and log booms.

A tug, "Dorothy Mackenzie," pulling a never-ending boom. The far shore is the south end of east Vancouver.

The railway swing-bridge, swung.

And a Great Blue Heron in spring plumage, waiting for spring to arrive.
