Slow day at the pond, except for the swallows.

It was a cool, overcast, blustery morning. At lunch I went to the neighbourhood pond to see what there was to see. I saw a Townsend's Warbler, my first for the year, but was unable to get a photo.

The lonely pied-billed grebe was sitting silently by himself, of course. I think he's losing the will to cowp.

Violet-green Swallows were swooping above the water. I tried photographing them in flight,

which, especially on a cloudy day, makes about as much sense as going to a shooting range to photograph bullets.
