Cake stand update.

Brief meteorological filler:

The cake stand grows larger still.

A longer ruler is now needed to keep track of things.

After last year's wind storm-induced power outage and the resulting caffeine withdrawal, we made sure we would never have to endure that again. Last year's resulting Christmas present became this morning's snow-induced power outage saviour. No power? No problem. Propane!

Mmmmm, coffee.

Now, obviously, the power is back on, and so is the wrapping marathon.

I hope you are all safe and warm, and not stuck in an airport somewhere.

Toasty warm here ... so nice to have wood heat. The farthest we have to travel is two blocks (tonight). Tomorrow the gang convene at our house.

Wish we were getting some of your snow! Soon enough you'll have soupy slush so enjoy it while you can. But for now, enjoy your white Christmas! I'm awaiting some unique and wonderful snow creations by you and the kids.

Glad you had your coffee backup on tap ... LOL.

Yes, CS, it seems we're due for a Slushmageddon. It has already started to rain.

Have a great Christmas up in the wood-warmed cold.

Campstoves to the rescue! I too find cooking on a campstove to be essential during power outages. I love your metaphor depicting a cake stand. Pour a bit of vanilla laced sugar water on that "cake" and you'll have a wonderful snow cone cake!
