Rhymes with dog.

I know there's a term for when you see something that looks a little like something else, and your brain sees it as that something else, even though it's more likely it is what it really is. For example, this coyote...

...really isn't. It's a very cunning log.

And it has fooled me twice.

WOW! I was fooled by the EXACT SAME log this weekend, I thought it was a wolf!! I was going to take a picture of it to remind myself, but then thought only an idiot like me would be fooled by something like that. Guess I'm not an idiot after all...Ha!

Isn't nice to know that Nature has a sense of humor? She fools me time and time again. Great photo, by the way.

Those coyotes get around. I once had a colleague swear that he saw a dead coyote on the way to do a bird count with me. It was early in the morning. We drove back to where the roadkill was and it was a full grown deer. He was embarrassed.

ITTL and Swampy, it kind of explains sasquatches and nessies, I think.

Well, PSYL, bear in mind it fooled me TWICE.

Cedrorum, Bird count? No doubt he was speeding. Shrunk the deer. Something to do with relativity.
