No blue for you.

Steller's Jay (Cyanocitta stelleri). Click the corvid to enjoy the feathers.

The Steller's Jay in this picture looks like a silhouette. The low-angled light was coming through a thin overcast, and very little of the blue structural colour bounced my way.

No blue, but no mistaking that outline.

I'm so glad I clicked and enlarged the photo - the light coming through the feathers is spectacular.

It makes a wonderful desktop image too. Do you mind if I borrow it for a week or two?

Stunning. Can't wait to share with my bird-a-holic brother-in-law.
