Smokeset.

June 8, 8:28 PM.

A very large forest fire is burning near Tyaughton Lake, BC, which is about 130 miles north-northeast of here. The smoke has formed a high altitude plume that stretches south to Puget Sound. Last night the sky was very hazy. There were a few light, thin clouds, but most of what's turning orange in the photo is smoke.

Thanks for the orange moon, but, really, you shouldn't have.

(A forest fire this early? Ouch, it could be an interesting summer.)

That's a sight my son enjoys since he is a forest firefighter.

K&V, As Earl says, it looks to be an interesting (and for your son, busy) summer.
