Return of the blue period.

Ho ho. There's something to be said for living less than a half mile from a blueberry farm.

Spot the green one. There's always a green one.

Yum. I have to buy the things, despite the fact that our freezer still retains much of last year's bounty. But they're so sweet, so tasty, so...blue.

Obviously you need to eat more blueberry pancakes.

My favourite berry. I still have some in the freezer too but plan on another 25 lbs.

Marvin, I'm making some this morning.

CS, they're so good that it's easy to be tempted to buy more than will be used. We'll try to control ourselves this year.

Need to go see if the farms near Tyler have ripe blue berries yet. Yummy.

I have discovered that a mugful of frozen blueberries, thawed simply by filling it with water (a few times, if you want them fully thawed), makes a delicious treat. The flavour is different from fresh, but equally great. So no more guilt about not baking enough to keep up with the frozen ones... they magically disappear out of the freezer one mug at a time.
