Frustration.

Neighbours across the road rarely fasten the garbage can lid adequately, which the crows have figured out. What this crow could not figure out, however, was how to open the plastic container that held the remains of a barbecued chicken. The crow chased it around the yard, flipping it over, but never managed to get to the tantalizing prize.

I have to admit, I encountered a crow doing exactly that in a parking garage, and I...opened it for him. He grabbed the slice of pizza (that's what was inside) and flew off with it, chased by two other crows who were intent on getting a cut for themselves.

Some people never learn. How many times have they had to pick up the debris left behind by the crows? Here, it's seagulls that tear into the trash. ~karen

Crows, seagulls, raccoons - they all benefit from our negligence and massive waste. No accident that crow populations are higher where there is human "civilization."
