Eviction.

Well, here's what yesterday's Bald-faced Hornet produced today. Two cells, and the start of the paper covering. It gives an idea of how industrious these creatures are. I felt it would be unfair to let her continue striving to the point of complete enclosure, egg-laying and so on--and then knock the thing down.

So I scraped the incipient nest off with a hockey stick.

Sorry lady. Better luck elsewhere.

Amazing what she accomplished in one day! Very interesting.

It IS pretty incredible that she could be so little yet work so hard to accoomplish so much! A labor of love? I'm glad you had heart and destroyed it now as opposed to later. ~karen
