Under a smoky sky.

Sunbathing crow.

Today was cloudless, but the sky was opalescent grey rather than blue. High altitude smoke from the many fires in the interior of British Columbia has drifted to the southern BC coast and Puget Sound. Nevertheless, the light remained strong enough for sunbathing.

Well, he certainly thinks he has something to crow about, doesn't he?

love this post Hugh - the baby crow and the strong poetic rhythmic language.

We had terrible smoke on the Outer Banks one summer. Thousands of acres of fire with a peat layer on fire, on the mainland.(Alligator Nat'l Wildlife Sanctuary) We actually wanted a hurricane to come, with welcome rain. Hope it gets better soon. Enjoy your blog! Thanks...happy trails

It's kind of alarming when you see that for the first time. They look to be expiring! Sorry about the fires. We are having bad air and lovely sunsets from those too, although it's not nearly so bad as you describe.
