Hawk bathing.

After a day of heavy rain, many low-lying areas at Terra Nova contained standing water.  I came across a Cooper's Hawk sitting in a sun-warmed puddle.  I watched him for a while, wondering if he might be injured.  He wasn't.  He was sitting still, waiting for me to leave.  When I didn't, he flew up into a tree and glared at me.  Sorry.

=) Yes, many of my wildlife encounters leave me feeling the same way: apologetic and somewhat clod-like. =) Unusual shot!
