Rubus in the rain.

The rain has returned (exasperated sigh), and so have the thimbleberry blossoms, brightening things up a tiny amount. Thimbleberry is one of the native Rubi, Rubus parviflorus.  Why are they called thimbleberries?  Because next month we'll have...

Thimbles!

Yes, they're edible, but squishy and not very flavourful. Look kind of like a small knit cap, and taste like one too.
