House on a stick.

Here's a bat house periscoping high above a cedar hedge bordering Paulik Park in Richmond. It's facing south, and painted a heat-drawing dark brown, proper bat house properties as I understand them.  But I wonder, do bats recognize such unnatural arrangements as places to roost, let alone brood?

In any case, well done, bat box owner. Your bat box against the sky is a sign-post of optimism and understanding.
