Anna's hummingbirds are taking over. I first saw one in this city 6 or 7 years ago, and now they follow you around if you're wearing a red toque.  Three or four are squabbling over the feeder at present, all females.

I sit outside reading, and am frequently distracted by the fluzzling of their wings.  I wonder if they ever wish they could escape that sound.  A human equivalent would be being forced to wear corduroy pants every day.  Voomp-voomp-voomp.

That photo is a nice capture. I envy you the feeders and the humming bird visits. I am afraid to put out feeders of any kind, since a couple of our cats are excellent predators.
