Parakeets on the parapets.

A few days ago we were on our way to see "the Hawaii Five-O Statue." I was delayed by a mob of parakeets who called to have their pictures taken.

Rose-ringed Parakeets are Old World birds naturalized in  Honolulu, along with a lot of other places. Whoever built this grand old building probably didn't intend it to serve as a parrot nesting box, but there it is.

Caudal splendor.

King Kamehameha.
